True Confections Mystery Books in Order

This series begins with Becca Ransom heading home and trying to figure out who she is now. After seven years in Hollywood, the former actress returns to Larch Haven, Vermont and starts working in her grandparents' chocolate shop, True Confections. It is a second-act story as much as a murder series, which gives the books a little more emotional weight from the start.

Larch Haven is one of Sarah Fox's best settings. A murder by the water hits differently when the water is part of everyday town life.

Becca works well as a sleuth because she understands performance. Her years as an actress taught her how people present themselves, how quickly a scene can change, and how much effort can go into hiding the truth. At the same time, she is learning a new craft in the family business, testing flavors, making chocolates, and reconnecting with relatives and old friends. That balance keeps her grounded. She may know something about public image, but she is also just trying to build a new life with her hands.

The mysteries stay personal. In Six Sweets Under, a local crank is found dead after clashing with Becca's grandfather, which pulls her into the case immediately. Baking Spirits Bright uses a holiday baking competition to turn seasonal cheer into suspicion and sabotage. Boulevard of Broken Creams brings a movie production to town and forces Becca back toward her old world when a former co-star becomes entangled in a murder investigation. The series keeps asking the same good question: how do you move forward when your past keeps showing up in new costumes?

These books are sweet, but they are not flimsy.

Fox gives Becca a strong mix of competence and uncertainty. She can read a room, but she does not have everything figured out. She loves her family, but coming home does not magically solve every old knot. That makes the series feel grounded even when the town is especially charming.
