The Vendetta

by Dr Rebecca Sharp

2023

Harmon Keyes built his ex-military motorcycle club on the motto “family first, justice for all,” but he has been biding his time for one particular revenge. Using Daria Sinclair, the sheltered daughter of his sworn enemy, as leverage should have been simple. One kiss and one glimpse of her genuine kindness leave him torn between the vengeance he has craved and the woman he is falling for.

Series background & context

The Vigilantes series follows an ex-military motorcycle club that takes justice into its own hands. Founded by Harmon Keyes, the club is made up of former special forces operators and soldiers who have seen how often the legal system fails victims. Their motto is simple: family first, justice for all. The books combine gritty suspense with deeply emotional romances and a long-running plot that stretches across all five installments.

The series begins with The Vendetta. Harmon has built the club around righting wrongs, but there is one wound he has never managed to close: what happened to his sister. The man responsible has walked away untouched, and Harmon is ready to use that man’s daughter, Daria Sinclair, to exact revenge. What starts as a calculated move turns into something far messier when Daria proves to be trusting, kind, and far more than an enemy’s pawn. Harmon has to decide whether vengeance or love will drive his final play.

Subsequent books, including The Verdict, The Villain, and The Vigilant, focus on different club members who have been orbiting in the background from the very beginning. Each of them carries their own secrets – covert operations gone wrong, double lives, and debts they feel honor-bound to repay. As they fall for women tied to their cases, the line between mission and heart grows thin. The club’s work pulls them into conflicts with corrupt officials, organized crime, and the ghosts of past deployments.

The final book, The Vow, brings the overarching story full circle with Robyn and Damon, two people whose marriage and separation have quietly threaded through earlier installments. Their second-chance romance runs alongside the takedown of the series’ ultimate villains, making their reconciliation as much about survival and justice as it is about forgiveness. Longtime readers get answers to questions that have been simmering since book one.

What makes The Vigilantes compelling is the way it balances the rough edges of an MC world with deep, tender relationships. There are bikes, leather, and plenty of danger, but also found family dinners, inside jokes, and characters who are allowed to be soft with the right person. If you are drawn to ex-military heroes, morally gray choices, and a group of friends whose loyalty pushes them into impossible situations, this series offers a complete, satisfying arc.
