The Protectors (Samantha Chase) Books in Order

The Protectors sits closer to romantic suspense than Samantha Chase's softer small-town books, but it still keeps the focus on emotional connection. The heroes are men shaped by military or security work, and the heroines are rarely willing to sit back and wait to be rescued. That push and pull gives the series a sharper edge than her family sagas.

The books follow different couples, but the setup is consistent. Somebody is in danger. Somebody else has the skills to keep them safe. And the personal history between them makes the job much harder. In Protecting His Best Friend's Sister, the hero comes home from the Marines and finds himself guarding the woman he always wanted but could never have. Protecting the Enemy layers second chances over divided loyalties. Protecting the Girl Next Door adds undercover work and a teacher-and-single-mom setup. Protecting the Movie Star brings a rough-edged protector into orbit with a famous woman being stalked.

These books are moodier and more intense than Chase's pure rom-com material.

Still, the emotional core is familiar. The characters are dealing with trust, guilt, loyalty, and the question of whether love is worth breaking the rules for. If you like protectors, off-limits romance, and just enough danger to keep the pages moving, this series will probably work for you.
