Seduce Me with Sapphires turns to Fenella, who secretly longs for the stage and finds herself face to face with a playwright who sees more of her than Society ever has. Ravish Me with Rubies follows Petra, whose long memory and proud heart make reunion anything but easy when an old fascination returns to her life.

If you want Jane Feather with a later historical setting, strong women friends, and romance that feels a bit more socially mobile while still very much tied to status and scandal, this trilogy is a good bet. It keeps her usual taste for scheming and emotional stand-offs, but filters it through a bright Edwardian sheen.
