Series background & context
The Godfathers is a dark mafia romance trilogy about powerful men, dangerous families, and women who become the center of a criminal world's attention. Compared with Boston Kings, this series feels more focused on mafia patriarch energy, protection, and the blunt language of ownership that Sara Fields uses in many of her contemporary dark romances.
Mine opens the trilogy with a hero who takes what he wants and a heroine who becomes his responsibility, his weakness, and his line in the sand. His continues the theme with an existing claim pushed into open possession. Yours brings in rival mob danger and the question of what protection costs when the man offering it is dangerous too.
The books are connected by tone more than a single long mystery. Expect morally gray men, criminal rivalries, wealthy spaces, threats from outside the relationship, and heroines who fight the rules even when the rules are closing around them.
This is contemporary dark romance, not romantic suspense with a light criminal backdrop.
Read Mine first. It gives the best introduction to the series voice, and the titles themselves tell you the emotional arc: mine, his, yours.
