The Duke’s Sons follows the large, lively Gresham family, led by the Duke of Langford and his five very different sons. In Lord Sebastian’s Secret, Sebastian is a former soldier preparing to marry Lady Georgina Stane while hiding his dyslexia and worrying that her eccentric family will make their future impossible. Nothing Like a Duke gives scholarly Flora Jennings and Lord Robert Gresham a romance shaped by fear, social pressure, and a threat from Flora’s past.

The fifth novel, The Duke Knows Best, follows Lord Randolph Gresham, a man preparing for a quiet church career, and Verity Sinclair, the dean’s daughter who believes a clergyman is exactly the wrong husband for her. Music, London society, and unexpected attraction give their match a different rhythm from the earlier books.

A Favor for the Prince works as a prequel. It features the youngest Gresham brother, Lord Alan, a scientist summoned by the Prince Regent to investigate a supposed ghost at Carlton House. Ariel Harding has her own reason to look into the haunting, since the dead actress at the center of the mystery was her mother. Their partnership brings a small gothic mystery into the family’s wider world.

Each book has a separate couple and a complete romantic arc, so readers can pick up any title. Still, the series rewards starting with Nathaniel and Violet because the Greshams’ shared history, household jokes, and changing relationships build from there. The novels balance emotional problems with practical ones, whether that means a difficult parent, a hidden disability, a bad reputation, or a mystery that has followed someone home.

Expect affectionate sibling chaos, capable heroines, and heroes who have to learn that duty is not the same as shutting everyone out. The atmosphere is more warm and witty than dark, even when a plot includes danger or a family secret.
