It is not an MC story at all.

Instead, Wrath drops readers into an isolated, controlled world shaped by fear, violence, and twisted rules passed down as truth. One lead has been treated like a monster and used for brutal purposes. The other starts out believing the system around her exists for protection, only to discover the real danger is much closer to home. That gives the book a cult-like, almost dystopian flavor.

The tension comes from revelation as much as attraction. Both characters are trapped in different ways, and the story keeps pushing them toward the same conclusion, that the people in charge are far more frightening than the so-called monsters below them. The romance grows out of that recognition, but survival and revenge are just as important.

If you are browsing Nicola Jane because of her biker books, this page shows a different side of her. The emotional intensity is still there, but the world is harsher, stranger, and built on captivity rather than club politics. Readers who like very dark romance with a strong escape-and-reckoning arc will probably find this one especially interesting.
