The Contract is the series that introduced a lot of readers to Melanie Moreland's style, sharp banter, strong emotional payoff, and a hero who has a very long way to go before he deserves the woman in front of him. Expect humor, hurt, devotion, and a strong redemption thread. Richard is not lovable at first, and that is the point. Watching him change is the engine.
