The Apprentice Of Anubis Books in Order

Chosen by Anubis, new apprentice Ani enters temple life with embalming lessons, a sacred jackal and an uneasy friendship with the High Priest’s son. Discovering a dangerous plot forces her to risk the future she has always wanted.

Ani discovers that her superiors are ignoring missing bodies and realizes she and Nik must investigate the temple’s corruption themselves. Their changing relationship adds uncertainty as uncovering the truth becomes increasingly difficult and potentially dangerous for everyone involved.

Returning to London, Ani and Nik expect routine tomb duties but instead face an investigation by Ma’at’s priestesses. As the temple comes under scrutiny, they fear what inspectors might uncover and whether their jobs and relationship can survive.

Traveling to York for a relative’s burial, Ani and Nik face an unfriendly High Priest and a rival Blessed apprentice. New secrets compete with family obligations and concerns about London, forcing Ani to seek help from her mentor.

Summoned to Egypt after the Pharaoh’s death, Ani joins other Anubis Blessed in preparing the ruler for burial. Unfamiliar temple politics and royal demands test her confidence, though Nik and her sacred jackal remain beside her.

The Festival of the Blessed thrusts Ani into public duties she would rather avoid. Balancing a mummification with celebrations across London, she relies on Nik and her jackal familiar while trying to represent her temple without losing her footing.

As the Pharaoh’s funeral approaches, Ani confronts competing agendas among the other Anubis Blessed. Support from the new ruler strengthens her resolve, but fulfilling her sacred responsibilities means proving herself in a ceremony where politics never disappear.

Back at the London Temple of Anubis, Ani looks forward to settling in but finds little opportunity to rest. Wedding plans, her responsibilities as a Blessed and Nik’s approaching examination combine to make homecoming another demanding new chapter.

Posing as assistants at a Paris mummification, Ani and Nik undertake their first inquisitorial assignment beneath the city. Disturbing discoveries in the catacombs challenge Ani’s faith, while uncertainty over whom to trust makes their mission increasingly difficult.

Assigned to London’s catacombs, Ani discovers that damp conditions and inadequate embalming have damaged the bodies of its poorest residents. Repairing the immediate harm becomes a larger mission to find a solution acceptable to her god and temple.

After helping prepare the previous Pharaoh’s body, Ani must remain in Egypt for the new ruler’s coronation. Royal attention, disapproving temple authorities and an encounter with her former romantic interest complicate her hopes of returning to ordinary duties.

Returning from Paris, Ani and Nik struggle with revelations about his father. Ani tries to support him as the news takes its toll, but decisions neither feels ready to make threaten the fragile balance of their life together.

Agreeing to embalm Nik’s father forces Ani and Nik to confront the personal meaning of their sacred work. Ani also faces a new job and two apprentices resistant to guidance, leaving both her judgment and faith under pressure.

Preparing to bury Nik’s father, Ani struggles with giving the former High Priest honors she questions. His family’s tensions compound her new leadership responsibilities, while an approaching festival demands attention she is already finding difficult to spare.

As the Beautiful Feast of the Valley approaches, Ani must coordinate demanding preparations and meetings that leave her feeling unprepared. A fellow Blessed who resists instructions makes overseeing the celebration an increasingly difficult test of her leadership.

Ani balances embalming work with supervising the Apprentice Blessed and preparing for an ordination. An unexpected gift from the Pharaoh complicates matters further when Prince Ramesses delivers it, forcing her to manage another encounter with her former romantic interest.

Charged with the vizier’s mummification, Ani finds herself facing unwelcome public attention and a suggested interview. Prince Ramesses arrives as the royal representative, bringing their personal history into work where one misstep could damage her temple reputation.
