Series background & context

This is a shared holiday mystery series, and it does exactly what the name promises. The books are set in Christmas Tyme, Colorado, a town and hotel world built for festive intrigue, quirky guests, and crimes that refuse to take the season off.

Each entry is a standalone mystery with a romantic thread, so readers can dip in without needing the whole series. The overall feel is lighter than hard-edged suspense. Think holiday atmosphere, suspicious strangers, missing valuables, murder at inconvenient times, and characters who would probably prefer a peaceful Christmas but are not going to get one.

Alexa Verde's books fit well here.

In Gabriel's Secret and Noelle on the Run, she brings her usual blend of clean romance, danger, and emotional honesty, but in a more compact, cozy frame. There is still tension, still a sense that the leads are carrying hurt or baggage, but the snow-globe setting keeps the mood playful enough to balance it.

What makes the series fun is the mix of Christmas comfort and genuine mystery plotting. Decorations, hotels, winter weather, and small-town cheer sit right next to thefts, secrets, and the occasional body. It is an easy formula to like.

If you want holiday reads with a little bite, but not the intensity of full romantic suspense, this series lands in a very readable middle ground.
