There is room for danger and for flirtation, too, with allies who may or may not be trustworthy. The books move quickly, but they are anchored by character.

Murder on the Steel Pier is clearly the place to start, and it lays out the bigger questions that can carry forward, especially what happened to Theresa and why Tess was pulled into her life in the first place.
