He wants attention, connection, and a little dignity, which makes him more than a walking joke. The story knows how silly he is, but it also lets him care about things in a real way.

That mix gives Teen Boat! a fun rhythm. It can jump from school awkwardness to action nonsense in a heartbeat, then land on a small emotional beat without getting heavy.
