Series background & context
Team Zero is where the Rinaverse truly begins. These books follow a group of assassins shaped by an underground organization called The Pit and trace how each of them claws their way toward something like a life outside that system.
The series opens with Lured, in which Camille Dubois becomes obsessed with a brilliant but unsettling doctor. Dominic looks like any other polished professional, but he is a sociopath working on a drug meant to turn kidnapped children into obedient killers. When Camille catches his attention, he becomes both her greatest danger and the one person willing to risk everything to keep her alive.
Crowed and Ghosted pull you deeper into The Pit and its satellite operations. New characters cross paths in strip clubs, safe houses, and criminal boardrooms as they investigate disappearances, rescue missions, and betrayals that go all the way back to their own training. Romance forms in the middle of bullets, double-crosses, and morally impossible choices.
In Shadowed, the spotlight lands on a hitman known only as Shadow and a woman who barges into his world to avenge her mother. Their enemies-to-lovers arc is pure Rina Kent: she calls him a monster, tries to expose his secrets, and still cannot stay away when she sees the man underneath.
Misted closes out the line with more threads tying into The Firm, The Pit, and the future of these assassins once they pull free of their handlers. The tone across all five books is dark romantic suspense with explicit content, graphic violence, and a strong found-family undercurrent as the assassins slowly start choosing each other over the people who made them.
Though the Team Zero books are now out of print, their characters echo everywhere. Names from this series pop up in The Rhodes, the Throne Duet, and even later mafia books, carrying a sense of shared history for fans who were there from the start. This page preserves the core premise, the reading order, and the emotional beats so new readers can understand the roots of the Rinaverse even if they discover the series later or in limited editions.
