The two form an uneasy partnership, juggling attraction, suspicion and a puzzle that reaches from English country houses to international waters.

Together the novels deliver classic romantic suspense: glamorous settings, high stakes espionage and a constant question of who can be believed. Gerritsen uses the Tavistocks' shared history to tie the books together, so references to their parents' work and the lingering impact of that loss echo across both stories.

You can read either title on its own, but taken in order the pair gives a fuller picture of a family built on secrets and the different ways two adult children choose to confront them.
