Targes Executive Protection is a newer offshoot of Sloane Kennedy’s world that focuses on a high end security firm guarding celebrities, executives, and other high profile clients. The tone is closer to The Protectors than to her small town series, with a strong mix of action, anger, and slow burn healing.

The first book, Proof, is built around a brutal, tangled history between two men who once meant everything to each other. Cass was a Marine and then a cop who ended up in prison for a crime he insists he did not commit, a mass shooting that left three people dead and an LAPD officer with a bullet in his head. That officer is JJ, the younger brother of Cass’s closest friend, the man Cass once expected to build a life with.
