Author bio

Sylvia Pierce writes contemporary romance with a very clear idea of what she likes: strong women, dirty-talking men, fast-moving attraction, and endings that feel earned. Her books are sexy, funny, and built for readers who enjoy a little swagger with their happily ever after.

She also likes trouble.

Pierce has said that The Diary of Anais Nin influenced her decision to follow her writing dreams more than any other book. Before settling into fiction, she did a short stint as a wedding photographer, then realized she was more interested in getting lost in a couple's happy moment than worrying about the camera. That mix of sensuality and emotional closeness shows up all over her fiction.

Her books began appearing in 2015, and she quickly carved out three main lanes. There are the seasonal Bad Boys on Holiday stories, the Buffalo Tempest hockey romances, and the more suspenseful billionaire serial collected as Bared to the Billionaire. They all live in the same general neighborhood, contemporary romance with heat, banter, and women who refuse to be pushed around, but each line has its own flavor.

If you want a quick introduction, Snowed In with the Bad Boy is a good place to start. It has a grumpy ex-military hero, a Christmas Eve snowstorm, and the kind of forced-proximity setup Pierce clearly enjoys. Naughty or Ice and Down to Puck show what she does with sports romance, pairing pro hockey players with women who can give as good as they get. Big Hard Stick adds a softer note beneath the steam, while Bared to the Billionaire leans into secrets, power games, and a riskier kind of obsession.

Across her books, you see the same interests pop up again and again. She likes headstrong heroines, alpha heroes who think they are in control, and the exact moment when that confidence stops working. Beaches, blizzards, locker rooms, weddings, secret pasts, second chances, and one very poor decision that turns into several more, that is familiar territory for her. Even when the titles wink at the reader, the women at the center of the story usually know what they want, or at least know what they will not put up with.

That matters.

She knows exactly which kind of bad boy she wants.

That affection for broken, leather-jacketed problem men is not hard to spot on the page. Her heroes can be grumpy, filthy-mouthed, possessive, or emotionally shut down, but they are usually paired with women who refuse to be steamrolled. The appeal is not that the guy stays impossible. It is watching the right woman call his bluff, crack the shell, and make him work for the ending.

Pierce's current author bio places her in New York with her husband, and the domestic details she shares are refreshingly unglamorous. She likes to have something to eat, something to read, and something to write on whenever she leaves the house. She loves music, counts Shakespeare in Love and Romancing the Stone among favorite romantic movies, and describes a good Friday night as pajamas, a glass of wine, and 80s rock ballads at home. She has also said that burritos absolutely deserve status as a food group.

That tone, warm, funny, a little wicked, is a good guide to the books themselves. Sylvia Pierce writes romance for readers who want heat, momentum, and heroines who can handle whatever complicated man has just walked into the room.
