Swamp Bottom Books in Order

Swamp Bottom is the lightest corner of Cora Kenborn's catalog, though light here still includes warrants, terrible decisions, family drama, and a lot of yelling from people who love each other. Co-written with K.A. Ware, it is a fast, funny Southern rom-com series built around the Dubois sisters and the kind of hometown chaos that never stays buried for long.

At the center are Adelaide and Savannah Dubois. Addie is the more responsible sister, or at least she likes to think so. Savvy is the one more likely to turn a bad idea into a full event. When life falls apart, money runs short, and past mistakes start catching up with them, they wind up back in the Louisiana swamp they once left behind, where old wounds, old flames, and old relatives are all waiting.

These books move fast.

Front Porches and Funerals lays the groundwork, and the later books keep building outward from there. Voodoo and Vodka brings Mardi Gras-level chaos and long-buried secrets. Hook-Ups and Hang-Ups pushes the sisters toward a New Orleans fresh start that does not go nearly as smoothly as planned. Blue Lights and Boatmen lets the men, Pope and Zep, step forward and give their side of the madness.

The setting matters because the series really does feel rooted in place. The bayou, the front-porch gossip, the stubborn family loyalty, and the small-circle memory of who did what to whom all shape the humor and the tension. These are novella-length books, but they still manage to feel lived in because the town and the family are always pressing in from the sides.

Then the stakes start growing up.

By the time you reach Pink Lines and Panic, Divorce and Denial, and Warrants and Onesies, the series is juggling pregnancy scares, surprise marriages, Vegas fallout, babies, and the ongoing question of whether any Dubois plan can stay simple for more than five minutes. Through all of that, the real anchor is the bond between the sisters and the men patient enough to love them.

If you want a break from Kenborn's darker books, Swamp Bottom is a fun place to land. It still has romance, conflict, and emotional payoffs, but the mood is warmer, wilder, and much more openly funny. Read it in order, because half the charm is watching the mess pile up.
