The SuperAlfa / Anarchy books take JA Huss's taste for morally gray power and push it into a more overtly sci-fi, almost comic-book-shaped space. Cathedral City is the center of it all, a place full of corruption, experiments, money, violence, and people who are far too dangerous to fit comfortably into hero or villain categories.

These stories are built around engineered men with too much power and too little reason to use it well. Lincoln, Case, and Thomas are not clean-cut saviors. They are damaged, brilliant, violent, and often driven by revenge before anything softer gets a chance. The women around them do not magically fix that. What they do is change the direction of the story, usually by forcing these men to care when caring is the most dangerous thing they could do.

That is the series hook. It asks whether the so-called bad guys can still become the center of a love story without turning tidy or harmless. The answer, in true Huss fashion, is messy. The romances matter, but so do the city-level stakes. Corrupt systems, shadow science, shifting loyalties, and the fallout of old damage keep the books moving.

This series has more action in its bloodstream.

If you are coming from Huss's contemporary work, expect a different texture here. The vibe is bigger, stranger, and more overtly speculative, but the familiar elements are still in place: obsession, sharp chemistry, layered secrets, and people making terrible choices for reasons that almost make sense. If you like your romance with antiheroes, urban collapse, and a strong superhuman edge, Anarchy is worth the jump.
