Beth's Stable turns space pirates into found family, while The Quarry Master and The Alien’s Little Sister keep expanding the same universe in new directions, from labor camps and quarry politics to workplace romance and protective siblings. The result is a world that starts with capture but slowly becomes about community.

That shift is a big part of why the series works. The danger is real, but so is the humor. Milo likes awkward cultural clashes, heroes with very specific instincts, and heroines who may be overwhelmed but are rarely passive. Her alien leads are not humans in costume. They misread things, obsess over odd details, and love in ways that feel protective, possessive, and sometimes very funny.
