Steampunk Red Riding Hood Books in Order

Under the local page name Steampunk Red Riding Hood, this series follows one of Karsak's most entertaining recurring heroines, Clemeny Louvel. Clemeny is a Red Cape Society agent, which means she is part monster hunter, part investigator, and part enforcer in a gaslamp London where the supernatural is everybody's problem whether they know it or not.

The premise is great fun. Instead of a naive girl in a red hood, Clemeny is the one the wolves should worry about. She moves through a London crowded with werewolves, vampires, goblins, magic, and political secrets. The city is dark, stylish, and busy enough to support both detective plots and romantic tension, which the series uses well.

The first book, Wolves and Daggers, sets the tone with missing inventors and a case that quickly grows bigger than expected. From there, the series opens into airship trouble, shifting pack politics, threats against the crown, holiday chaos, and increasingly personal stakes. Queen Victoria is part of the world, but so are the hidden institutions that keep its stranger side under control.

A big part of the appeal is Clemeny's voice. She is capable, sarcastic, stubborn, and not especially interested in being handled. Her chemistry with Sir Richard Lionheart helps give the books their romantic backbone, but the cases would still work without it. These are not quiet relationship novels that happen to contain a monster. They are action-heavy adventures that understand romance is more fun when people are dodging claws.

If you enjoy steampunk with a paranormal edge, this series is an easy recommendation. It has energy, banter, and a heroine who knows how to swing a blade and keep a joke ready. The mood is darker than Karsak's cozy work, but it is still playful. Think gaslamp London, secret societies, werewolf politics, and a very dangerous Little Red at the center of it all.
