Star Wars (YA) Books in Order

Ashley Poston's YA Star Wars work starts with Eyes Like Stars, a romance-forward adventure set about a year and a half before The Force Awakens. The main character is Ardent Quay, an eighteen-year-old whose life changes after she saves a fast-talking Wild Spacer on Coruscant. That should have been the end of it. Instead, he sneaks aboard her father's star tour ship, eats her snacks, keeps his secrets, and pulls her into a problem much bigger than either of them expected. The push and pull between them matters right away, which gives the whole story a warmer, banter-heavy energy than a typical mission-first tie-in novel.

But there are real stakes beneath the spark. A mysterious artifact, a plot that puts the ship's passengers in danger, and the First Order on their trail turn the book into a chase as much as a romance. That balance is probably the key thing to expect from Poston's take on the universe. She is interested in attraction, longing, and emotional risk, but she never forgets that this is still a galaxy where the wrong cargo, the wrong secret, or the wrong stop can get people killed.

If you already like Poston's adult romances, this book makes sense as an extension of that voice into a younger and more overtly adventurous setting. If you are coming from Star Wars first, it looks like a good entry point because it uses a familiar era and familiar tension without demanding that you memorize a mountain of lore. It is built to feel accessible, character-first, and a little dreamy, while still giving readers travel, danger, and a ticking clock.

At the moment, Eyes Like Stars is the place to start. It introduces Poston's version of romance in a galaxy far, far away, and that seems to be exactly the point.
