Star Trek: The Next Generation (Relaunch) Books in Order

The relaunch version of The Next Generation picks up after the movies and asks what comes next for Picard, the Enterprise, and the Federation they serve. Instead of resetting everyone back to their familiar marks, these books let time move forward. Careers change. Relationships deepen. Political problems do not neatly wrap up in an hour.

Jean-Luc Picard is still the center of gravity, but the cast matters as a full working crew. Worf, Geordi, Beverly, Data's legacy, and the rest of the Enterprise-E orbit all keep affecting the larger story. Some novels lean toward exploration and diplomacy. Others go big with Borg threats, courtroom pressure, intelligence games, or federation-level crises.

It is a long-form version of TNG.

That makes the relaunch especially good for readers who want consequences. Decisions in one book carry into the next. Side characters grow into major players. David Mack's part of this corner of Trek usually pushes toward the higher-stakes end of the spectrum, but the line still keeps the thoughtful TNG spirit that made the show work in the first place.
