ST Gibson Books in Order

S.T. Gibson writes gothic romance and dark fantasy built around desire, danger, old stories, and people trying to get free of the roles others have set for them. Gibson studied creative writing at the University of North Carolina at Asheville and later completed theological studies at Princeton Seminary. It also signals an interest Gibson would keep exploring: familiar myths viewed from a character who has often been left at the edge of the original story.

A Dowry of Blood follows Constanta, who is saved from death and made the bride of an immortal man. Told across centuries, the novel reworks the idea of Dracula's brides as a story about control, loyalty, chosen family, and the painful work of naming abuse for what it is. The book became a Sunday Times and USA Today bestseller and introduced many readers to Gibson's gothic fiction.

Later books show that she is not tied to one corner of the genre. An Education in Malice sends vampire hunger and romantic rivalry into an isolated Massachusetts college, where students and professors are caught in a web of secrets and ambition. In the Summoner's Circle books, including Evocation and Ascension, Boston occultists, old bargains, and complicated relationships drive the action. These are books for readers who like magic with consequences, messy loyalties, and characters who cannot solve everything by pretending they don't want something.

Gibson's work has been nominated for the Goodreads Choice Award and the British Fantasy Award, and has also appeared on the longlist for a British Science Fiction Association Award. The books return to a clear question: what happens when the people inside a haunted house, vampire household, secret society, or fairy tale insist on being more than a supporting character?

She continues to write across gothic romance and dark fantasy, including the Unearthly Delights trilogy, which begins with Savage Blooms.
