The opening story, Assignment: Athens, begins after a SpyCo agent is killed and a briefcase disappears. The loss threatens the organization and points toward a larger enemy. SpyCo's leaders turn to experienced operative James Reagan Burke to assemble help, recover what was taken, and find out who is behind the attack.

From there, the books travel through Paris, Istanbul, Sydney, Alaska, Dublin, and London. Each location brings its own pressure point, whether that means a terrorist plan, an isolated landscape, a stolen secret, or an enemy with a personal reason to strike. The globe-trotting format gives the series a classic spy-adventure feel without requiring a huge commitment to any one mission.
