Spies and Food Truck Cozy Mystery Books in Order

The Spies and Food Truck books take the Mission family world in a fresh direction by shifting attention to Delta Mission, a younger operative on the run who is trying to stay hidden behind an ice cream truck. That is already a good hook, and Rosie A Point uses it well. In Strawberry Swirl Murder, Delta reaches Carmel Springs, Maine and winds up catering an event on a ship in port, where a much-hated guest drops dead after eating ice cream and Delta becomes far too involved to slip away quietly.

Mobility is the gimmick here, and it works.

Because Delta is traveling, the series gets to keep the small-town cozy feel while changing the local social map more often. Every stop brings a new setting, new suspects, and new rules about who can be trusted. Delta has the Mission family habit of noticing more than she says, but she also has the extra problem of needing to guard her identity while running a business that depends on being visible and friendly. That tension gives the books a pleasant double pull. She has to attract attention and avoid it at the same time.

The ice cream truck is more than a cute prop. It gives the mysteries summer energy, public events, and plenty of ways for Delta to be dropped into festivals, ports, cemeteries, and other very bad places to be when a corpse appears. Books like Mint Freeze Murder, Caramel Drip Murder, and Neapolitan Murder keep that wandering structure going while tying Delta back to the larger Mission world.

Delta feels a little different from Charlie, which helps the spin-off stand on its own. She is clever, resourceful, and under pressure, but there is a slightly more improvisational feeling to the way she moves through a case. She is always on the verge of leaving, which makes each place feel temporary even when the danger is not.

If you like spy cozies but want a more mobile setup than an inn or fixed hometown, this series is a fun variation. It keeps the family espionage flavor, adds lots of ice cream, and gives Delta a good excuse to keep running straight toward murder.
