The Soul Cycle is Brian Niemeier's four-book science-fantasy series, set in a cosmos where airships move between worlds and the rules of reality are stranger than they first appear. He joins a reformed guildsman, a heavenly protector, and an ambassador from hell, then follows a trail into a decaying city where survival and old secrets become tangled together.

In The Secret Kings, the scope widens as the god of the Void is free and Shaiel's Lawbringers spread a harsh new order through the Middle Stratum. Teg finds the world remade by conflict, while Nakvin struggles to build resistance in Avalon. The book carries forward the series' interest in old friendships, broken institutions, and people trying to act when the powers above them seem overwhelming.

The Ophian Rising brings another shift in focus. The Ophians challenge the long rule of the immortal Zadokim, and Astlin's search for forbidden knowledge pulls several unlikely allies into a crisis involving politics, faith, memory, and a threat older than the current uprising. The setting stretches from desert trade centers to contested worlds, but personal debts still matter as much as grand plans.
