Silver Dragons Books in Order

The Silver Dragons books shift the dragon spotlight to May Northcott and Gabriel Tauhou, and they do it with a slightly darker, more tangled mood than the earliest Aisling Grey novels. May is not wandering into the Otherworld by accident. She is already deep in it, hiding, stealing, negotiating, and trying to stay alive while several powerful beings would very much like to use her.

So the romance has teeth.

May is a shadow walker, which makes her unusually well-suited to secrecy and unusually badly suited to a quiet life. Gabriel, the leader of the silver dragons, is drawn to her fast, but their connection is wrapped up in dragon politics, magical relics, and a demon lord who keeps making everything worse. This is a series where attraction and danger arrive together and do not separate politely.

The central arc revolves around the silver dragons, May's unusual power, and the growing sense that old magical forces are not done with either of them. MacAlister keeps the plot busy with thefts, bargains, pursuit, and threats from both the Otherworld and Abaddon. That gives the books a more driven feel than a simple couple-centered romance.

At the same time, they are still recognizably hers. There is humor in the middle of the chaos, especially whenever demonic interference is involved. The books do not lose sight of character in favor of magical machinery. Gabriel and May matter because both are stubborn, guarded, and very bad at taking the easy path.

If you like your paranormal romance a bit more perilous, Silver Dragons is a strong branch of the dragon universe. It rewards readers who enjoy ongoing magical conflict, complicated loyalties, and a heroine who is fully capable of surviving trouble, even if that trouble keeps getting larger.
