Series background & context
Shore Leave is a contemporary naval romance series set around Washington State, Navy life, and the lively Euler family. The books focus on service members and civilians whose relationships have to make room for deployments, complicated schedules, and relatives who have plenty of opinions.
The first story, Sailor Proof, starts with a fake welcome-home kiss between Naval Chief Derrick Fox and Arthur Euler, his best friend's younger brother. What should be a harmless favor suddenly looks very real.
It gets complicated fast.
The series keeps the military setting close without losing its lighter, family-centered feel. Homecomings, family gatherings, cabins, competitive relatives, and the Olympic Peninsula all matter as much as time aboard ship. Characters have to decide whether a relationship can survive the practical facts of military life.
Sailor Proof and Sink or Swim each feature a different couple, so both work as individual romances. Still, starting with Sailor Proof makes the family connections and returning characters more rewarding.
Expect low-to-moderate angst, fake dating, close quarters, and big, busy family energy.
