Series background & context

SBMC South Carolina is Erin Trejo's South Carolina branch of the Soulless Bastards motorcycle club romances. The series begins with Locke, followed by Gunner, Remy, and Hodge. Its opening stories give the chapter's officers personal reasons to question how they have arranged their lives. Club loyalty remains important, but returning family members, new relationships, and threats from the past bring other obligations into focus.

Locke centers on the chapter's vice president, a man with a difficult history who has found belonging among his brothers. Gunner, the president, is part of that chosen family. When Gunner's daughter Kiki returns after an abusive relationship with Spike, her arrival brings a familiar connection into a new situation. The woman who needs support is not someone entirely outside the club's circle, which makes Locke's growing feelings more complicated.

Locke and Kiki are both carrying scars, and that shared experience matters to their attraction. Her return cannot be treated as a clean break from everything that happened before. Spike remains a threat, while Locke has to respond as more than a man interested in a relationship. His place beside Gunner and his protective response to Kiki put personal feeling inside the chapter's existing network of loyalty and responsibility.

For this chapter, family is never far from club life.

Gunner shifts the focus to the president himself. Already a father, he feels that something is missing from his life. An encounter with a younger woman appears at first to be a brief connection, until she returns pregnant a month later. Bringing her into his life means confronting the possibility of another future, as well as the danger connected with her past. His established responsibilities do not disappear when a new one arrives.

These premises link romance with different stages of family life. Locke is drawn toward the daughter of the man beside whom he serves; Gunner faces a relationship that could reshape his own household. Both stories put pressure on the separation between the club and the people its members care about. The clubhouse and brotherhood provide continuity, but the central questions concern what it means to offer a place in one's life when another person's history brings risks along with intimacy.

Read Locke first, then continue through Gunner, Remy, and Hodge. This follows the South Carolina chapter from its opening couple into the wider group. Expect explicit motorcycle club romance, abusive past relationships, family connections, and suspense around women seeking safety. The chapter's early stories are tied together by men whose protective instincts become personal commitments, with no easy way to keep the consequences outside either their romantic lives or their brotherhood.
