Series background & context

SBMC Missouri is Erin Trejo's Missouri branch of the Soulless Bastards motorcycle club romances. The sequence begins with Mask, followed by Van and Pike. Its opening stories bring women fleeing dangerous situations into the chapter's orbit. The clubhouse offers somewhere to turn, but the move also creates new relationships and new responsibilities for the men who become involved in their lives.

In Mask, Kindra has witnessed a murder and is trying to escape the mafia. Her flight takes her to the Soulless Bastards clubhouse, where the president offers her refuge without conditions. That welcome gives her an alternative to the threat behind her, but entering the club's world is still a major change. Her immediate need is somewhere to stay safely, rather than a romance she has deliberately gone looking for.

Mask's interest complicates the situation. He is caught in a toxic relationship of his own, yet finds himself drawn toward Kindra and wanting to protect her. Their connection brings two different kinds of difficulty together: the danger following her and the emotional entanglement already present in his life. The question is not only whether she can hide from the people pursuing her, but what room either person has for a different relationship.

The clubhouse becomes a place where separate troubles meet.

Van introduces Chyanne, a pregnant woman escaping abuse. Through her friend Nicole, she is able to seek help from the same club community. Van, a bachelor who grew up with sisters, is accustomed to feeling protective toward women. Her arrival challenges him with a more personal possibility. Concern for her and her unborn child brings the idea of a family into a life that has not been organized around one.

The Missouri setting gives both romances a shared source of support. The men are members of a brotherhood, and the women arrive through connections that make the group more than a background presence. Yet shelter is not the end of either emotional story. Kindra and Chyanne have reasons to be cautious, and the men must decide how deeply they are willing to involve themselves. Protection starts as an immediate response to danger and develops into questions about belonging and commitment.

Start with Mask, then continue with Van and Pike to stay within the Missouri chapter's sequence. The tone is explicit motorcycle club romance with suspense, abuse, and threats from outside the clubhouse. The opening books are particularly centered on refuge and the relationships that can form there. Their shared concern is whether a temporary place of safety can become part of a more lasting future when a woman's past has not stopped pursuing her.
