Roaring Twenties Magic Books in Order

The Roaring Twenties Magic series returns to Therin's hidden-magic 1920s, but it shifts attention to two men who arrive with far messier reputations. Sebastian de Leon has spent years under the control of blood magic and is trying to live with what he did. Lord Fine, better known as Wesley, is an aristocrat and former Great War captain who covers hurt with sharp edges, dry humor, and a refusal to trust anyone too quickly.

That makes the series feel a little rougher and more wounded than Magic in Manhattan, in a good way. These books are still romances, but they are also redemption stories. Sebastian and Wesley are not blank-slate heroes. They start with guilt, anger, bad memories, and every reason to assume happiness might pass them by.

The first book, Proper Scoundrels, begins in London and Yorkshire, with murders, folklore, and forced proximity pushing them together. From there the story moves back to New York in Once a Rogue and then outward again in Viscounts & Villainy, into old houses, aristocratic circles, and plots that reach across the Atlantic. The period setting still matters, but this trilogy leans more into secrets, scandal, and the uneasy overlap between magic and class.

Redemption is possible here, but it is never easy.

Across the three books, the ongoing story links personal healing to a wider threat against magic itself. A relic troubles Sebastian. Old enemies and old mistakes keep resurfacing. Wesley, who begins as someone looking in from the outside, gets pulled deeper into magical politics and dangers he cannot solve with wit alone. The couple's relationship deepens book by book, and the larger mystery builds with it, so this is definitely a series to read in order.

What you should expect is a mix of magical investigation, emotional fallout, and hard-won tenderness. Therin gives these books plenty of action, but she also makes room for quieter scenes where trust has to be rebuilt one choice at a time. If you like damaged leads, murder plots, and romance that treats forgiveness as complicated work, this spin-off has a lot to offer.
