Resolutions Books in Order

The Resolutions books are relationship stories first. They are less about meet-cutes and more about what people do after disappointment, disillusionment, bad choices, and fear have already taken a chunk out of their lives. The series title fits. These books keep asking what happens when people make promises, break them, dodge them, or finally decide to mean them.

That question lands most clearly in Until I Do.

Instead of starting with a couple falling in love, Lowe begins with a marriage already in trouble. Mia and Bode Calder are estranged, confused, and no longer sure what their vows were supposed to mean in real life. With help from a pastor and a forced look back at the promises they once made, the story becomes a rekindling romance with some real grown-up weight behind it. It is a smart way into the series because it shows right away that Lowe is interested in the hard middle of love, not only the rush of the beginning.

Until I Don't shifts to a new pair and a different energy. Asher Reid is a brooding former soldier who has built walls around himself, while journalist Neena Cameron is curious, determined, and not easily intimidated. Their setup has more push and pull, and the romance grows through proximity, persistence, and the challenge of getting a guarded person to stop treating connection like a threat. Even with the sparks, though, the book still fits the series' larger mood. Both characters have baggage. Both have reasons to mistrust what they want.

By the time Until I Decide arrives, the focus turns to Lee Sutton, a man trying to change after a rough stretch of choices and consequences. Bellamy McCoy enters at exactly the wrong, or right, moment. That book leans more into self-reckoning, asking whether someone can honestly become different or whether they just keep dressing the same trouble in new clothes. It gives the series a slightly rougher edge while keeping the hopeful core intact.

These books feel adult.

Not in a flashy way, but in the sense that the characters are not learning love from scratch. They are learning how to carry regret, pride, habit, trauma, and longing into something healthier. Lowe writes those struggles in plain language, with faith woven through the stories and just enough humor to keep them from feeling heavy all the time.

If you like romance that starts after life has already made a mess, Resolutions is a strong fit. Expect damaged people, difficult conversations, and endings that feel earned because the characters have had to choose them, not just stumble into them.
