2026

Wolf and Deja have finally chosen each other, but revelations about the Bennett family threaten their future. As they confront business pressures, family crises, and jealous outsiders, their relationship faces tests that love alone may not resolve.

Series background & context

Deja has built the life she once watched her mother and aunt pursue. At twenty-three, she dances under the name Poison and has made herself known across Miami. Money, attention, and confidence onstage make her look secure. Away from the performance, childhood wounds and a difficult relationship with her mother still shape what she expects from other people.

Being wanted has never guaranteed that she will be treated well.

The first book, Queen of the Pole, brings Deja into the path of Warren Bennett, known as Wolf. He comes from a wealthy family whose money is tied to aviation, but he has chosen to establish himself as a jeweler. Friction with his father has helped push him toward a business and identity of his own. Deja's involvement with another man creates the circumstances in which their lives meet, and Wolf begins to see beyond the persona that draws customers to her stage.

Their connection turns the series into a romance about trust as much as attraction. Deja is used to men responding to Poison, the fantasy she presents for work. Someone taking an interest in her ordinary needs and private pain challenges that familiar pattern. Wolf, meanwhile, has to understand what it means to care for a woman whose work keeps her in the public eye. The attention that supports her livelihood also places pressure on the relationship they are trying to build.

In Queen of the Pole II, that pressure sits alongside trouble within both families. Secrets disturb the Bennett family's outward appearance of success, leaving Wolf to reconsider relationships he once took for granted. His business needs attention, Deja faces a family crisis, and other people's involvement makes it difficult for them to concentrate only on each other. The story follows how those competing demands affect a relationship that is still finding its footing.

Miami's dance clubs, wealth, and business connections give this urban romance its setting. The central question remains personal: can Deja and Wolf make room for trust while carrying so much family history into their future? Start with Queen of the Pole and continue with Queen of the Pole II, since the second book develops the same couple's story. Expect family conflict, jealousy, and emotional hurt alongside the romance, with the difference between public confidence and private vulnerability running through both books.
