Pathfinder Tales Books in Order

Pathfinder Tales is a shared-world fantasy line set in Golarion, the world of the Pathfinder roleplaying game. Unlike a tight trilogy, the line is built around standalones. Different authors handle different regions, cultures, and protagonists, which makes the books a good way to dip into the setting without signing up for a giant reading project.

That also means the tone can move around a lot. Some books are classic adventure stories. Some lean into military conflict, horror, or urban intrigue. The main promise is that each novel gives you one strong corner of the world and lets that corner breathe.

Ed Greenwood's entry is The Wizard's Mask, and it fits that approach well. It throws together a cursed masked fugitive and an escaped halfling slave in the middle of the war between Molthune and Nirmathas. The book uses pursuit, mistrust, and the search for a powerful artifact to carry the plot, but the borderland setting does a lot of the work too.

It is a good line for readers who like fantasy worlds that feel bigger than one hero.
