Park Hotel Books in Order

The Park Hotel books are Diane Capri's cozy corner, but only in the best sense. They keep the murder, danger, and secrets you expect from her, then set them inside a historic island hotel full of demanding guests, village gossip, romantic confusion, and the kind of small-community memory that makes every crime feel personal.

The center of the series is Andi Steele.

Andi used to be a lawyer. Then her career was wrecked by the fallout from her boss's embezzlement, and the best job she can get is a temporary concierge spot at the Park Hotel on Frontenac Island, Michigan. That setup gives the books instant charm. Andi knows how to think like a lawyer, but she is living like someone trying to stay afloat. She does not really mean to become an amateur sleuth. She just keeps landing in the middle of murder.

The island matters a lot here. Frontenac is scenic, close-knit, and just isolated enough to trap people with their problems. The hotel sits at the center of it, bringing together tourists, locals, staff, old scandals, new flirtations, and more than one body. In Reservation with Death, Andi wants to lie low and get her life back on track, but a dead body wrecks that plan immediately. Early Check Out, Room with a Clue, and Late Arrival keep proving that the Park Hotel is not going to provide a quiet reset.

Capri has fun with the tone. There are cats and dogs. There are quirky villagers. There is at least the suggestion that the hotel may have a ghost, or at minimum enough atmosphere to make people act as if it does. At the same time, the crimes still matter. Friends get accused. Old bosses reappear. Best friends get kidnapped. Andi's past as a lawyer keeps making her useful when things turn serious.

The romantic thread helps too. Mayor Daniel Evans is in the picture, but so is Sheriff Jackson, which gives Andi one more thing to juggle while she is trying to solve murders and hold on to her stopgap job. The balance is light without becoming silly. These are cozy mysteries with real stakes, not just puzzles with teacups.

What makes the series work is that Andi is easy to root for. She is competent, a little battered by circumstance, and unable to walk away when somebody innocent is in trouble. That combination gives the books warmth and momentum.

If you want Capri with a softer frame but the same liking for smart women and dangerous truths, start with Reservation with Death. The Park Hotel books are breezier than her thrillers, but they still know exactly how to keep a body in the right place at the right time.
