Outlaws of the Galaxy Books in Order

Outlaws of the Galaxy is space adventure scaled down to a rough frontier and told like a caper, a western, and a buddy comedy all at once. The setting is Saphira, an Earth-like planet at the edge of human space, forty years after a war with an alien species usually called Gators. It was once an outpost, now it is the sort of place people forget unless they are stranded there, hiding there, or hoping to make a little money from it.

At the center of the series is Quincy, usually called Quin, Randall, a self-confessed conman and thief with a price on his head. He is hiding out on Saphira after stealing from dangerous people and would like nothing more glamorous than enough cash to buy passage off-world. His closest companion is Floyd, an eight-foot ex-military robot who can be useful, alarming, and very funny at exactly the wrong moment.

Quin is an outlaw, but not a cold one.

That matters because each book throws him into another scheme that should be simple and never is. Battleship Raider turns a treasure hunt inside a crashed warship into a fight against lethal defenses. A Fistful of Trouble drops Quin and Floyd into Cicada City, where a scam, a rival fraudster named Harmony, and a robot army collide. Road Rage tries the old idea that going straight will be safer, only to send Quin cross-country with suspicious cargo and a hitchhiker who is even more trouble than he is. By Bounty Hunter, the fact that Quin makes enemies for a living catches up with him in a big way.

When the feared O'Keefe corners Quin, the series leans hard into one of its best strengths, hostile teamwork. These books like bickering alliances, improvised plans, bad luck, and last-second pivots. The danger is real, but the tone stays lively and a little scruffy. Quin keeps trying to outthink the mess he is in, and the mess keeps getting bigger.

Saphira does a lot of work too. It has desert frontier towns, tropical jungle, scorched badlands left by war, and an orbiting hotel called the Starlight that was built for a tourism boom that never happened. Even the wildlife gets in on the act, with giant reptilian predators known locally as dragons. All of that gives the series its own pulpy texture. It feels like science fiction, but also like a road movie and a frontier tale with blasters.

The larger arc is simple and strong. Quin keeps trying to scrape together enough money to get back to civilisation, while bounty hunters, old grudges, and his own weakness for risky shortcuts keep pulling him sideways. If you like witty rogues, big action, robots with attitude, and stories that happily mix treasure maps, truck runs, shoot-outs, and monsters, this series knows its lane.
