Series background & context

Omega Force is Susannah Sandlin's paranormal action series, set in the same wider world as the Penton Legacy books. It turns the focus from a hidden vampire community to a special operations team working where human threats and supernatural problems overlap.

The first book, Storm Force, introduces Jack Kellison, a wounded former Army Ranger who leads the Omega Force team. Jack is used to hard jobs and hard choices, but the mission becomes personal when he crosses paths with Mori Chastaine, an environmental activist accused of bombing a Houston office building.

Mori has trouble of her own, and the accusation puts her in the middle of a crisis that is bigger than one attack. Jack has to decide whether she is a threat, a witness, or someone being used by more dangerous people. As they investigate, the story brings together counterterrorism, shifting allegiances, and paranormal elements that neither character can ignore.

The action is direct and team-based. Omega Force members bring military training, specialist skills, and supernatural abilities to cases where normal law enforcement is not enough. That gives the series a different flavor from the Penton books, even though both share vampires, shapeshifters, and the political fallout of a world learning that it is not quite what it seemed.

It is a story about people carrying scars, literal and otherwise, who still have to step up when a threat arrives. Jack's injury and Mori's isolation matter to the way they approach each other, so the romance grows out of caution and shared danger rather than taking over the plot.

Readers can begin with Storm Force without having read Penton Legacy. Familiarity with Redemption, Absolution, and Omega adds context for the larger supernatural world, but Jack and Mori's case has its own central mystery and resolution. Expect a fast-moving blend of romantic suspense, a mission-focused thriller, and paranormal action.
