In Snatched, the focus widens to Hailey, a 12-year-old girl who can find things in a way other people cannot. Her mother sees her gifts as unsettling, while Hailey sees a chance to help. When young girls begin disappearing, she decides to use her ability to find them. The decision puts her in real danger and turns a good intention into a fight for survival.

The books balance crime scenes and investigations with paranormal suspense. Norman matters because it is not presented as a place built for constant violence or bizarre cases. That contrast makes each new discovery feel more disruptive. Ordinary streets, local relationships, and a small department become the setting for events that do not fit ordinary explanations.

Charlie continues the series after Twisted and Snatched. Reading in order is the simplest way to follow the developing mix of investigators, unusual abilities, and threats that keep pushing Norman beyond its comfort zone.

Expect a darker, grittier take on the mystery format than a standard small-town detective story. The violence can be sharp, but the ongoing appeal is in the people trying to do the right thing when the facts refuse to behave normally.
