Series background & context

New Hope is the setting that links several of Lexi Ryan's early contemporary romances. It is less one single series than a shared world of friends, siblings, former classmates, and love stories that cross paths in a small Indiana town. The books include the Splintered Hearts stories, Here and Now, Reckless & Real, and Mended Hearts.

The most direct place to begin is Unbreak Me, which follows Maggie Thompson as she returns home to serve as a bridesmaid at her former fiancé's wedding to her sister. Maggie wants to repair her reputation and fragile family relationships, but she gets caught between the man who once promised to fix her life and an ex-rocker who gives her permission to make her own choices. It establishes the close but complicated social ties that run through the broader New Hope books.

Everyone knows someone else's history.

The related Splintered Hearts story continues with Stolen Wishes, a prequel novella about William Bailey and Cally Fisher, followed by Wish I May, when Cally returns to New Hope after seven years away. Their romance carries old heartbreak, rumors, and secrets that make a simple reunion impossible.

From there, Here and Now follows Hanna through the aftermath of an accident that leaves her without memories of the previous year. Lost in Me, Fall to You, and All for This form one continuous trilogy involving Hanna, Max Hallowell, and musician Nate Crane. Reckless & Real focuses on Liz Thompson and Sam Bradshaw in a two-book story about anonymous online connection, scandal, and past betrayal. The Mended Hearts novels add romantic suspense through stories involving danger, protective heroes, and characters already tied to the New Hope circle.

The connective tissue is not a single ongoing mystery. It is the community. Relationships from one set of books become background history in another, and side characters regularly step into larger roles. That makes the world rewarding for readers who like seeing friends and family reappear after their own happy endings.

The tone is emotional, steamy, and sometimes angsty. Expect secrets, grief, second chances, difficult family relationships, and characters who have to choose honesty over the easier version of their lives. Some books are standalones, while Here and Now and Reckless & Real have continuing arcs.

For the broadest introduction, start with Unbreak Me, then read Stolen Wishes and Wish I May. After that, choose the connected arc that appeals most: Hanna's trilogy in Here and Now, Liz and Sam's duet in Reckless & Real, or the romantic suspense of Mended Hearts.
