Series background & context
Nashville Rampage is Kaylee Ryan's pro football series, and it gives her a bigger, more public sandbox than many of her small-town books. The team is the glue. Players, staff, friends, relatives, and people pulled into the orbit of the organization all overlap, so each romance feels part of the same world even when the central couple changes.
The series starts with Make the Play, then continues through Run the Play, Learn the Play, Follow the Play, Change the Play, and Risk the Play. The books are designed as standalones, but the fun comes from seeing the team culture build. Locker room loyalty, best-friend ties, workplace boundaries, media pressure, and the way a football season controls everybody's calendar all shape the romances.
That sports backdrop matters because it creates conflict Ryan does not need in her smaller series. Public visibility, team rules, off-limits relationships, and career stakes can turn even a private feeling into a real problem. At the same time, these are still Ryan romances. The emotional core stays warm, direct, and relationship-centered.
So while the setting is bigger, the reading experience is still cozy in the ways her fans usually want. You get the thrill of professional sports without losing the tenderness, found family, and heroes who are fully committed once love catches them.
If you want Ryan's swoon with football energy around it, Nashville Rampage is a strong newer entry point. Start with Make the Play and read forward for the best sense of the team and its shared world.
