Series background & context
Mythic is Abbie Zanders' hidden-supernatural small town, and it is exactly the kind of place where ordinary-looking streets can hide very unordinary residents. Vampires, fae, fallen angels, witches, shifters, mages, and other preternaturals live alongside humans, keeping the truth mostly out of sight. The town itself matters because it creates a shared stage where all of those worlds can collide.
Each book follows a different couple, but the bigger appeal is the way the setting keeps expanding. A doctor with secrets can cross paths with a powerful fae. A driven businessman can find fate knocking at his door in a much stranger form than expected. A werewolf alpha can discover that wanting a worthy mate is one thing, and handling the real woman is another. By the time you move through Faerie Godmother, Fallen Angel, The Oracle at Mythic, Wolf Out of Water, and Earth Witch, the town starts to feel like a living map of linked magical communities.
Magic is everywhere here.
So are secrets. That is what gives the series its tension. These are not flashy, public fantasy battles in the middle of a city square. Much of the pressure comes from what must stay hidden, who can be trusted, and how love changes the rules people thought they could live by. Fate and mate bonds matter, but so do power, lineage, old enemies, and the simple fact that some truths are hard to survive once they are known.
The tone sits comfortably in paranormal romance, with enough worldbuilding to be fun without taking over the books. If you like protective heroes, capable heroines, strong chemistry, and a magical town that keeps rewarding repeat visits, Mythic is one of Zanders' easiest worlds to get lost in.
