Teenage naval cadet Blackmon Perry Stone uncovers thieves aboard his ship and is abandoned in hyperspace to die. His improvised escape strands him on an unknown planet, where surviving may be only the first challenge.

Blackmon Perry Stone hopes for a shipboard posting but receives an assignment on a planet instead. When alien enemies overrun the base, he is left wounded and hunted in the open, confronting the environment he fears most.

Disgraced and discharged from the navy, Stone takes a seemingly minor job aboard an old family freighter. As he tries to regain trust, political and family agendas pull him toward a dangerous confrontation at the edge of human space.

Blackmon Perry Stone faces another deadly alien encounter, using his armored combat suit to protect a vulnerable young survivor. This continuation of his military adventures pits his quick reactions against a creature capable of tearing its victims apart.
