Men of Orion Books in Order

Men of Orion is a smaller science fiction and paranormal offshoot in Laylah Roberts' catalogue, but it shows how comfortably she can shift into speculative romance without losing her core style. The first book, Worlds Apart, gives you a good idea of the tone right away: a vulnerable heroine in danger, powerful men who recognize a bond before she fully does, and a world where survival and love get tied together fast.

That matters because the emotional setup is built around an existing male bond being forced to widen. Talon is sure Kalia belongs with them. Garret is much less thrilled by that idea. So the tension is not only external. It is also about whether a closed pair can become something bigger without breaking apart.

The setting pushes the story beyond ordinary contemporary romance. There are shifter elements, alien or off-world touches, captivity, rescue, and a broader sense that this is not normal Earth life. Even so, Roberts keeps the emotional stakes close and readable. Kalia's vulnerability, Talon's certainty, and Garret's resistance do most of the heavy lifting.

If you like romance that feels a little more adventurous but still centers care, protectiveness, and eventual belonging, this series is worth a look. It is not as sprawling as her cowboy or biker worlds, but it scratches a different itch.

Think fated mates, danger in motion, and a heroine who finds family in the last place she expected.
