This series takes the world of Matefinder and moves it forward to the next generation. Instead of Aurora, the focus shifts to her daughter Anya, which gives the books an automatic built-in tension. Anya has grown up under the shadow of a powerful family legacy, and that would already be a lot. Then it becomes clear she may be carrying her own version of that destiny.

In Keeper, Anya is introduced as the next Matefinder, born as part of a twin set with a brother meant to protect her. But the story quickly signals that her life is not going to follow the old pattern. Strange dreams, a human boy in danger, and the awakening of powers that do not fit neatly inside expectation all push her into a new role. The next-generation label matters because the books are interested in inheritance, but they are just as interested in deviation.
