Mastering Magic Books in Order

Rejected by a magical academy, a man discovers years later that his powerful affinity was hidden from him. Training illegally while working in a goth mage's shop brings an inquisitive professor and suspicious police officer into a life he hoped to keep simple.

A magic-shop worker's unique power draws him back to the academy, where a professor offers training and a venue for confronting his pursuer. New allies and a strange presence beneath the halls raise questions about whom he can trust.

As the magical world destabilizes, a powerful magus discovers something beneath the academy trying to draw out his mana. With ordinary people turning against magic users, he and his companions must confront the hidden threat before their hoped-for quiet life disappears.
