Maggie Hall Books in Order

Maggie Hall grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, before leaving for Los Angeles to attend the University of Southern California. She later lived in New Orleans, spent time in other places, and returned to Albuquerque, a home base at one end of a life shaped by regular travel.

Hall's travels have included time in Thailand, Italy, and India, along with a year spent traveling around the world with her husband. Those experiences helped give her fiction its sense of movement. Her characters don't just visit beautiful cities. They have to navigate them while the pressure is on.

Travel is part of the engine, not just the backdrop.

After college, Hall worked in marketing and events at an independent bookstore. Seeing publishing up close made its hard realities clear, but it also made the work feel possible. Around then, hearing about National Novel Writing Month helped her realize that someone without an MFA or industry contacts could still sit down and start a novel.

She was also reading young adult fiction and looking for a particular mix that she couldn't quite find: conspiracy puzzles, travel, romance, and a high-pressure adventure. So she decided to make the kind of story she wanted to pick up herself. That idea became the seed of The Conspiracy of Us, her first novel and the beginning of a three-book series.

Published in 2015, The Conspiracy of Us introduces Avery West, a teenager whose search for family pulls her into the Circle of Twelve, a secret network with global reach. The story moves through Paris and Istanbul, with clues, rival factions, and complicated feelings involving Jack Bishop and Stellan Korolev. Readers who enjoy maps, monuments, hidden histories, and cliffhanger danger will recognize the appeal.

The trilogy continues with Map of Fates and The Ends of the World. Across the three books, Hall enlarges the puzzle while following Avery as she tries to protect the people she loves and make decisions for herself inside a system built to use her.

Hall has said that she spent a couple of years working on The Conspiracy of Us before she began querying it. The process involved substantial rewriting, and the book was eventually acquired as part of a three-book deal. She later described planning the later installments more carefully, while still leaving room to discover new parts of the story as she wrote.

During the period when the trilogy was published, Hall lived in Albuquerque with her husband and cats when she was not traveling. Her work life has also included graphic design, creating book covers, blogging about young adult literature, and following USC football. It is a fitting set of interests for a writer whose books pair globe-trotting stakes with a teen's eye for friendship, trust, and who gets to choose the next move.
