Leila Ulric hopes a new apartment and roommate will improve her bleak city life. A nighttime walk instead leads her into an unsolved mystery and an encounter with a young man whose hidden nature challenges everything she understands.

After Mortale disappears, Leila searches for him and for answers about the truths he has concealed. Following her attraction and curiosity through the city’s darkest corners leads her toward a dangerous world she never knew existed beneath ordinary life.

Leila and Vincent reach a quiet town whose welcoming leader hides darker intentions. Unable to leave as unsettling discoveries accumulate, they face revelations that put Leila at risk and force her to decide whether she can trust Vincent’s monstrous nature.

Fog drives Leila, Vincent and their companions into the lakeside home of a strange host. Unsettling visions and concealed motives surround them as Leila begins to understand the dangerous consequences of her role as a proxy for supernatural forces.

At their destination, Leila and Vincent encounter his former lover, whose revelations challenge his understanding of his age and origins. Answers bring fresh doubts as a hidden threat inside the mansion forces the group to investigate before it strikes.
