What makes the series appealing is its balance. It keeps the fun of reimagined fantasy, but it is really interested in the emotional fallout of big choices. Tink is not just magical. She is hurt, hopeful, impulsive, and trying to figure out what loving someone should actually mean.

If you like fairy-tale retellings that care about feelings as much as plot, Love, Tink is an easy one to pick up. It keeps one foot in myth and the other in teenage heartbreak, which turns out to be a very workable combination.
