Lisa Gabriele is a Canadian novelist, journalist, and television producer whose work moves between family fiction, psychological suspense, and erotic romance. She was born in Windsor, Ontario, and studied at the Ryerson School of Journalism.

Before her books reached readers, Gabriele built a busy career in Canadian media. At the CBC, she worked as a producer, writer, reporter, and radio researcher. She later became an executive producer at LifeSize Television and worked on programs for the History Channel and the Life Network.

Storytelling was the thread running through all of it.

Her debut novel, Tempting Faith DiNapoli, follows a sharp, restless Catholic girl as she grows up in a broke and chaotic family. Faith wants goodness, beauty, freedom, and a way out, even when those wants lead her into trouble. The book has the close-up feel of a coming-of-age story, with family arguments, religious guilt, bad decisions, and plenty of dark humor.

Gabriele returned to complicated family ties in The Almost Archer Sisters. The novel centers on Peachy and Beth Archer, sisters shaped by the same childhood loss but pulled toward very different adult lives. One stays close to home in Canada, while the other builds a life in New York. It is a warm but unsentimental story about motherhood, resentment, loyalty, and the strange ways sisters can know each other best and least.

In 2013, Gabriele's pseudonym L. Marie Adeline was publicly connected to her. Under that name, she wrote the S.E.C.R.E.T. trilogy, beginning with S.E.C.R.E.T. The adult series follows women in New Orleans who enter a private sisterhood designed to help them face desire, shame, old hurts, and the choices they have avoided. The books are frank about sex, but their continuing interest is what happens when the characters start asking for more from their own lives.

With The Winters, Gabriele shifted into psychological thriller territory. The novel reworks the basic setup of Daphne du Maurier's Rebecca for a modern setting: an unnamed young woman falls quickly for a wealthy widowed senator and moves into his Long Island estate, where his late wife still seems to fill every room. The book uses an uneasy mansion, family friction, and political power to build tension around a woman trying to understand the life she has stepped into.

Gabriele has also written essays and fiction for magazines and anthologies, and her television work has earned Gemini and Canadian Screen Awards. Her more recent work includes producing and developing podcasts, bringing the same interest in people, secrets, and messy real lives to audio storytelling.

She has kept moving between forms.

More recently, Gabriele has said that she opened a pottery studio in Windsor, Ontario. It is a fitting extra chapter for a writer and producer whose career has included reporting, television, novels, podcasts, and now making things by hand.
