Kingdoms of Legacy Books in Order

Kingdoms of Legacy starts a new fairy tale setting, and it feels different from the Four Kingdoms books right away. Instead of retelling familiar stories in a shared royal world, this series imagines kingdoms whose landscapes and lives are actively shaped by old tale patterns called Legacies. In one place, roses invite danger. In another, glass slippers are part of public life. Elsewhere, sleep and thorns are woven into the country itself.

That gives the series a strong hook. The characters know they live under the shadow of these old story patterns, and part of the tension comes from trying to outthink them, survive them, or choose whether to step into them at all. The Legacies are not just decorative magic. They shape customs, expectations, and the risks of everyday life.

It is a clever setup.

Legacy of Roses begins in Glandore with Rosalie and Dimitri, where Beauty and the Beast elements are tied to a dangerous enchantment around a castle and its roses. Legacy of Glass shifts to Sovar, where royal balls and glass slippers are part of the kingdom's attempt to manage its Legacy, until Olivia and Prince Julius get trapped inside the very force they thought they understood. Legacy of Thorns moves to Oakden and follows Daphne as she tries to break free of a sleep enchantment that has shaped her whole life.

The tone is still romantic fantasy, but it leans a little more toward fantasy romance than the earlier Four Kingdoms books. The worldbuilding is more openly enchanted, and there is a playful pleasure in watching familiar tale pieces become hazards inside the setting itself. At the same time, the books stay grounded in character. Rosalie, Olivia, Julius, Daphne, and Finley are not acting out pageant versions of fairy tales. They are people trying to live under magical pressure.

If you want something recognizably Cellier but with a fresher framework, Kingdoms of Legacy is a great choice. It has romance, danger, and fairy tale echoes, but it also has a new world logic all its own. That makes it a good starting point for readers who like enchanted settings and stand-alone couples, but want a fantasy system that feels built into the land itself.
